Our offerings and services
  1. Collections
    • Library with some 11.000 volumes (fiction and non-fiction, German and foreign languages) both scholarly and popular works; for instance: women's biographies, women in other countries, feminist movements, works, violence, health, art, history, economies, politics and science; also feminist children's books, travel guides; publications from mini presses; the complete libraries "Nozizwe" and "Gudula Lorez".

    • About 900 German and foreign feminist periodicals, both current and titels no longer published.

    • Personal papers and egodocuments of notable as well as lesser known women, for instance:
      Ida Kogelschatz geb. d'Heureuse (geb. 1864), Else Kolshorn (1873-1962), Anna Minna Schulz (geb. 1888), Elisabeth Rothschuh (1893-1987), Margarethe Rudorff (1898-1988), Johanna Woelke geb. Rektenwald (1900-1970), Lucie Brisch (1904-1977), Hildegard Radusch (1904-1994), Marta Mierendorff (geb. 1911), Gudula Lorez (1944-1987), Brigitte Mießner (1949 - 2007), Suzanne Seeland (1943 - 2009).


    • Files of women' initiatives, associations, clubs and federations, (for instance: Berlin Librarian School, "Council for Woman's Liberation Berlin", first women's center Berlin, first Berlin conference of traditional women's associations and autonomous women's groups, women's parties, "Federation of autonomous Women's Studies Organizations, BAFF", "Network of Berlin's Lesbian's/Women's Archives", "Women Crisis Consultive Store").

    • More than 8.000 posters, stickers, buttons and postcards on women's work.

    • Nearly 5.000 photographs of individual women's lives and feminist congresses and events.

    • Around one million single documents, grey material and newspaper clippings from the 1960s to today and from all nations as well as about nearly any conceivable subject.

    • Audio and video tapes or films of speeches, events, congresses and oral history recordings.

    • Databases of collections, bibliographies and adresses of women's organizations worldwide.

  2. Counselling on research and archival matters, especially on the preservation of women's documents as a valuable cultural heritage.

  3. Provision of scholarly and feminist contacts - worldwide.

  4. Paid information brokering on women and on gender studies.

  5. Scholarly information and documentation as well as publications; provision of bibliographies or information lists on request.

  6. Support of campaigns, networks and lobbying.

  7. Exhibitions, lectures and provision of speakers.
